Schreiber (sbs) A highly mesmerizing, mostly instrumental album from France, reminding me of so many good moments with music by "Karda Estra", "Tortoise", and "Magma", just to name a few pleasant associations that arise in me. At the core there's guitar, alto sax, and drums, joined by occasional vocals and various other instruments like vibraphone, harp, oboe, strings, bass, and - hey - even some Rhodes piano. Favorite track: Höflichkeit.

Thochsten While the previous album sounds (to me) like influencced by TORTOISE or the OST of "Jenseits der Stille" is Sarah Anne a masterpiece of its own. Beautiful melodies and perfect harmonies, light and happy and sad at once. This kind of music cannot get any better! There is actually no favorite track, you have got to listen to the entire album! Favorite track: Verbëri Borë.

Stunning ... The opener has very much a 70s sound, somewhere between jazz-rock fusion and progressive rock. But the band show their exuberence and expertise by carving their own path. Such a shame there's no more. Peter Jones

Wow it's been a loooong time since I've been this excited about a prog album. PoiL and Ni are great bands in their own rights, but this project is so much more than the sum of its parts. I've not heard anything else quite like it, it's never boring. If I didn't know better I'd think these dudes are all actual wizards, especially with that band photo. 11/10 strongly recommended. sky · ghost

Mark Wingfield is always recommended listening for fans of Jazz or Fusion guitar (among the names usually dropped you'll find Alan Holdsworth, Terje Rypdal, Pat Metheny). Nevertheless, this isn't just pure Jazz. I seem to hear more traces of progressive rock than in his other recordings, but probably that's just an early impression... Carsten Pieper
